Once every three months in your local area, Rachel Foux and a local
women's health physiotherapist will host a training evening on women’s Pelvic Floor Health
for health professionals.
The aim of this evening is to offer midwives, nurses and health visitors the
opportunity to seek further education and resources to support the female
pelvic floor.
From experience, we recognize that it can be challenging to find the time or
the confidence to discuss sexual health issues with clients. Yet most of us
would agree, that the pelvic floor is an important contributor to the
overall mental, physical and emotional well being of our clients and a
subject that shouldn’t be over looked, particularly during pregnancy or
menopause.
Sexual pain, incontinence and loss of desire can all be symptomatic of
pelvic floor dysfunction and we aim to empower you, during the course of
this evening, to find more opportune moments to support your clients.
Our physiotherapist will revise how to instruct your clients to perform
effective pelvic floor exercises and how best to give a simple internal
evaluation of the condition of their pelvic floor.
Meantime Rachel will suggest how to listen for client hints about their sex
or relationship problems, why this is so relevant and how to feel more
confident about addressing all sexual health issues.
There will also be time for questions and discussion as well as an update of
pelvic floor resources including a demonstration of latest pelvic floor
aides for toning.
The evening will run from 19:00 - 22:00 at the Weston Branch Booking is essential.
Cost £15 per person and includes refreshments.
